Privacy policy.

This page explains what Venon collects through this website, why, and how to have it deleted. We are the data controller for the personal data described below.

What we collect

  • Enquiry data — name, email, company, project type, budget range, timeline and the message you send us through the contact form.
  • Review data — name, role, company, company URL and the review text you submit, plus whether the review came through an invited (verified) link.
  • Rate-limiting data — a salted hash of your IP address, kept solely to stop abuse of the enquiry and review forms. It is not stored alongside anything else that could identify you, and is never used for analytics or profiling.
  • Plausible analytics — aggregate, cookieless visit statistics (pages viewed, referrer, device type, country). Nothing here is tied to an individual visitor or stored as personal data.

Lawful basis

Enquiry and review data is processed on the basis of consent, which you give explicitly via the checkbox on each form, and — for enquiries — to take steps prior to entering a contract with you at your request. Rate-limiting data is processed under our legitimate interest in keeping the forms usable and free of spam.

Retention

Enquiries are kept for as long as is reasonably useful to us as a record of who we've spoken to, and are deleted on request (see below). Approved reviews are kept indefinitely, as they are published content you've consented to us displaying. Rejected and pending reviews, and rate-limiting hashes, are periodically purged.

Who else sees it

Enquiries and reviews are stored on our own server, not a third party's — we run the database ourselves rather than handing it to an outside provider. The following processors still handle data on our behalf, for the parts of the site that need one:

  • Google (Gmail) — sends enquiry notification emails and review invite links.
  • Cloudflare — provides Turnstile, the bot-verification check on our forms.

We do not sell data, and we do not use Google Analytics or any advertising pixel.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing venonireland@gmail.com. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission, the supervisory authority for data protection in Ireland (dataprotection.ie).
